To celebrate Makaela’s 12th birthday we decided to throw a “Glamping” themed party. It’s hard for me to believe that next year, I’ll have a teenager! I like to make birthdays special events and celebrate, you only turn 12 once right? The fall months are the perfect time to throw an outdoor party to celebrate with friends for a glamorous camping experience right at home. The weather was absolutely perfect!
“Glamp” in Style
The tent was rented from a local DFW based business. I love to support local businesses as much as I can. I decided to do the DIY option and create my own “Glamp Style” decor. I wanted the space to be comfy for the girls so inside of the tent I set up a queen size air mattress draped with a comforter, added lounge pillows, throw pillows, throw blankets, a bean bag chair, and poufs. Outside of the tent there was a basket for shoes, a table for popcorn, pampas grass, and a rug where the girls could sit to roast marshmallows surrounded by adirondack chairs.

A few of Makaela’s friends came over to help her celebrate, including one of her best friends who came from Alabama. Of course, we had to get matching “Friends” t-shirts. The games included Connect 4 and Tic Tac Toe. We also set up our movie projector inside of the tent for them to watch a movie after the sun set.
“Glamp” Food
For dinner the girls opted for Chick-fil-a, which is always a win. I created a charcuterie style board with chicken, potato chips, and fruit. After the sun set, the girls made and enjoyed their own delicious s’mores. To create the s’more board I used marshmallows, graham crackers, chocolate chip cookies, peanut butter cups, milk, and white chocolate bars. Talk about a yummy treat!
