During the holidays, there is A LOT to be excited about, and for me, that includes holiday cocktails! And having a prepped bar cart and the essentials on hand makes it that much easier for those pre-holiday party drinks, nightcaps, or the impromptu gathering. I’ve done the leg work in gathering the best tips and essentials so we can all enjoy the holidays with a little extra oomph! Cheers!!
1. Bar Essentials
I mean business regarding the perfect cocktail… and a bar tool set makes sure the job gets done. You need four key pieces of barware: a shaker, mixing spoon, strainer, and jigger. You can find these at almost any liquor store individually, but I prefer to have a set like this one. 2. Your Choice Spirits
If you’re making spirits bright this season, it’s only necessary that you have your favorite spirits on hand! I find it’s best always to have vodka and whiskey as your staples. Then go for one special spirit for any unique cocktails you have in mind (gin, rum, bourbon, etc.). And finish off with a seasonal spirit like peppermint liqueur, Bailey’s, or Rum Chata.
3. Glassware
And for the finishing touch, glassware. I always feel like my glassware sets the vibe for my drink of choice so it’s important to have options!! Always keep the basics on hand for your bar: stem wine, martini, whiskey, and hi-ball glasses. I love the look of a chic and timeless bar with different glassware… But for the holidays, I add a touch of festive with some holiday glassware to really set the tone and add a chic flare to my bar!
